DR. VASSIEM SHEIKH JOINS BULK MATERIALS INTERNATIONAL AS REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Bulk Materials International (BMI) announced that Vassiem Sheikh has joined BMI as Regional Director of BMI Asia. He has been charged with the responsibility of growing the market share, business development , sourcing of raw materials and any other innovative materials or processes within the regions of Asia and the Middle East for BMI. Dr. Sheikh will be located in BMI’s Asia office in Singapore,where he will work closely with Mr. William Tan, General Manager of BMI Asia and Mr. Leigh Pulford, Sales, Sourcing and Logistics Manager. In his position Dr. Sheikh will report to Mr. Carrigan, Vice President International Business and will manage the direct operations and overall performance of the BMI office in Singapore.

Before joining BMI, Dr. Sheikh was employed by Cementia Trading, Switzerland as Product Performance Manager in charge of Product Quality, Cementitious Development and Global Marketing. He was Senior Product Development Engineer for the Lafarge Asia Technical Centre in Malaysia. In this position he was responsible for improving current and developing new cementitious products for the Lafarge business units in Asia. He also has experience as a Product Quality Engineer for Blue Circle Industries.
Dr. Sheikh holds a Doctorate degree in Cementitious Materials and High Performance Concrete, a Masters degree in Construction Materials and a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of London.
